Various minor cannabinoids were discovered and innovated in the cannabis industry.

There’s more to cannabinoids than just THC and CBD. Cannabinoids come in all shapes and sizes. Despite its minor potency, minor cannabinoids like CBN, CBG, Delta-8 THC, and Delta 9 THC are becoming increasingly popular.

There’s a great thing about the cannabis market: even though you have different cannabinoids, they’re all variants of one another. They all have properties and effects on the body that make them unique.

This article aims to show you how THC-O and HHC, two new entrants in the cannabis industry, differ. The article explains what makes them different.

THC-O: what is it?

Different cannabinoids have made their way to light in different ways. They’re all natural. However, some bring manufacturing into the picture. This gives them a unique set of benefits and characteristics.

Synthetic THC-O Acetate has a high potency level and is a synthetic analog of THC. The molecule looks like Delta 9 THC, even though it’s synthetic.

HHC: What is it?

HHC, or hexahydrocannabinol, was unknown to scientists until recently. It’s a hydrogenated form of THC and a semi-synthetic cannabinoid.

American chemist Roger Adams invented it in 1944 when he hydrogenated Delta 9 THC into HHC by adding hydrogen molecules.

What’s the difference between THC-O and HHC?

There’s a new generation of cannabinoids coming out. Because of this, we’ll get confused about the effects and characteristics.

You might think there’s no difference between the two compounds if both are variants of THC. Although THC and HHC have different benefits and characteristics, both have advantages.

There are a few things that separate THC-O from HHC:

Origin

This synthetic analog of THC is made through a comprehensive, extensive, and robust process that is not found naturally in cannabis plants. In contrast, HHC is naturally found in cannabis. As a result, it’s only available in minute traces and isn’t cost-effective to extract from them.

Manufacturing Process

As a synthetic analog of THC, THC-O uses an extensive process to create it:

CBD is extracted from hemp plants that contain less than 0.3% THC. You take Delta 8 out of such CBD.

Acetic anhydride and THC ester are volatile and flammable.

As a result, you obtain THC-O Acetate, also referred to as THC-0.

There’s nothing to taste, no odor, and it’s thick. Because there’s acetic anhydride involved, equipment is needed. Complex and risky, it’s a long and complicated process. Performing such operations at home isn’t a good idea.

On the other hand, HHC has to be made in a lab even though it’s found in natural stuff. Acids were used to convert THC to HHC in the conventional method. This new process releases THC hydrogenated with metal catalysts like iridium, palladium, nickel, rhodium, etc.

Chemical Structure

Acetylated THC is THC-O. There are variations in the base structure of THC-O Acetate compared to THC, Delta 8 THC, and Delta 9 THC. The double carbon bond between THC and HHC is broken because of hydrogenation and saturation with hydrogen atoms. As hydrogen replaces carbon, HHC is more stable and can withstand heat and UV better.

Potency

Compared to Delta-8 THC and Delta-9 THC, THC-O is five times stronger than Delta-8 THC and three times stronger than Delta-9 THC. HHC is more powerful than Delta 8 THC. THC-O Acetate is five times more potent than HHC because it is less active than Delta 9 THC.

Effects

There are lots of medicinal and therapeutic benefits to both THC-O and HHC. An individual’s cognitive function is improved, and their appetite is stimulated. Furthermore, you’ll get euphoric.

The high potency of THC-O makes it great. With its euphoric and psychedelic effects without making you feel couch-locked, it’s the best. The shelf life and stability of HHC are unbeatable. It is, therefore, best to use THC-O to achieve a high state and euphoric effect. It’s not possible for HHC. Getting relaxed can help you get more out of it.

Conclusion

Cannabis is booming. As this massively growing industry grows, minor cannabinoids like HHC and THC O should flourish. To understand the nature and effects of these compounds, consumers need to know the primary differences.

Because both compounds should be as safe as possible. Buying from reputed sellers with high-quality products will minimize your risk of running into problems.

Choose high-quality products from reputable sellers to avoid any risks.
